DAY 267 Amitabh Bachchan Blog
Fact is. Some one mentioned the film on my blog. Some expressed opinion for it, some against. And yes they contained some strong assumptions. I merely put both of them up and invited debate. I have done this many times on several issues and there has been great involvement. Media, in India has taken the pros and cons of OTHERS, as MINE, built their headlines and put it safely out, thereby, causing the consternation. All the expressions that have been attributed to me are in fact the expressions of others. Or perceived impressions of others. Where is the indication that this impression is concretely mine ? There is none !! And now after having castigated me for something not attributable to me, it has made my real opinion on the film after seeing it, impossible. If I do not like it there will be greater abuse. If I like it, there will be abuse.
My apologies therefore, on this unfortunate and completely misguided occurrence. May peace prevail and prosperity follow.
It is the most convenient and easiest practice to twist and distort words, especially if they come from celebrities. The copy makes good reading. Media did just that and made a screaming headline - ‘AB slams Slum’. Note the use of word ’slam’. It is nowhere in my blog, but has been deliberately put because it rhymes and reads well with the word ’slum’. Headline structured, editorial happy and to hell with its truth and authenticity.
Another one…
“Bachchanalia’ book release and the headline reads ‘Amitabh Booked’. Great to read. Nothing technically wrong. But the idea is to attract attention. The use of ‘booked’, as we all know, gives reference to being ‘booked’ for a crime ! Journalist or copy writer that composed it gets an affectionate pat on the back and celeb be damned !!

After giving all of extended family a description of my visit to the premier of CC2C, here is what comes out in media -

Chandni Chowk To China
London 12th Jan: Akshay Kumar’s Chandni Chowk To China premiered at Empire Cinema Leicester Square in London today. The premier seemed at first doubtful to be successful because of the cold and rainy weather but Akshay’s fans proved how much they love him by gethering in hundreds to support him.
Deepika arrived at the venue at round 6:15pm in a pink Indian outfit and a fur jacket. She stayed away from the crowd and spent most of the time with the media. Soon after Akshay Kumar in a black blazer, white shirt and Chinese style pants arrived and the crowd went crazy. He spent most of his time mingling with the crowd and taking pictures with the fans. The movie was supposed to start at 6:45pm, however, Akshay and Deepika were seen standing in the cold waiting for Amitabh Bachan.
Amitabh Bachan was specially invited for the premier by Akshay Kumar. Although being a special guest, Big B arrived in his escorted mercedes at the venue 25 minutes late. He walked straight through the carpet leaving the crowd disappointed.
It seems like Big B’s watch was not working today or did he do it intentionally to make Akshay’s premier flop? Well only Big B can give the answer as why he was late.
Other stars at the premier included Anu Malik.
Chandni Chowk To China will be released worldwide on January 16th. We have to wait and see if Akshay Kumar wins the box office over Amir (Ghajini) and Shah Rukh Khan (RNBDJ). In days to come we will know who is the real king of box office.
Lastly, will Deepika forgive Big B for making her stand and shiver in the cold? We are sure she has a big heart!

What can you possibly call this but deliberate bias and ruthless misinformation.
I call Akshay and apologize to him. He is embarrassed by it and has initiated corrections through his media and PR agency. PR agency has moved and sent me an entire 3 page plan of rectification. Akshay writes in to me also and expresses grave regret and assures me of taking care of this misdemeanor. Look at the deluge that can be designed to destroy..

You remember the post of DAY 263 and the story I published at the beginning. A story mailed to me from So Africa. A story about a plane traveller and the men in uniform. Well.. The media has made it out to be me that was in the plane and what ‘generosity’ and concern I had shown to the army men. I do have immense concern and respect for our jawans and officers, but that wasn’t me in the plane ! It was a story ! But look what the media did to it -
The Salon du Cinema had its 2009 opening tonight.
The proceedings go off well. Unique and artistically designed venue. An air of informality in the settings and the protocol. Press meets, phto - ops, meeting dignitaries, introductions, on stage , off stage, a walk about, and finally the screening. The documentary ‘Everlasting Light’ first and then ‘Last Lear’
Tomorrow - Sarkar Raj, Black and Sholay..
Oh.. and the media frenzy.. no different.. except the language.
‘Sil vous plai’, aagosh, ‘Ameeeta’……
