    • DAY 280 Amitabh Bachchan Blog
    London… early morning after an all night flight in from Mumbai. The JET Airways staff and hostesses, polite and comforting and looking after all our comfort on the plane. The High Commission staff meet up at the gate, as is customary when an MP travels and gets us through with some speed. It is always so gratifying. By the time we get to the baggage holding area, the luggage is out and ready to travel out. Some more efficiency from the handlers. Perks that Jaya enjoys as a Member of the Rajya Sabha.

    The day is spent quietly catching up with all the details and connections for Davos and ofcourse details of the event and some thoughts on what we need to do once there.

    There is an invitation to dinner at AMAYA.. a restaurant somewhat recent and avante gard, but Indian in a more modern way. The manager comes up and informs us that he was with Taj Hotel and had looked after the catering at a Holi at Prateeksha and later on at Shweta’s Wedding. A small and warm and endearing world.

    I am suffering now. My back pain has reappeared and I find it difficult to sit and move. I excuse myself, get back into the Hotel and quickly resort to some pain killers.

    It shall be another long day tomorrow and I would not want it to aggravate.
