The day after the night-morning before ! Analytical discussions on how the event went off. The guests and the hospitality and the views - all in the relaxed comfort after everyone surfaced by 3 in the afternoon ! By then the place has been cleaned up and the house restored to normalcy as though nothing had happened. Wife did it all, even as we stumbled across the after effects of the long night early morning ! Amazing. The home is her domain, her nest and she will not want to see anything, and I mean anything, out of place. Constantly putting objects in the right perspective. That little shift of the angle of a lamp, a speck of dirt here, a cushion on the couch there, all done with care and concern for the betterment of the ‘home’.

I drive back just now from Karan’s place after dinner. He has been down with malaria and so we all went down to wish him and meet up with Hiroo, his Mother. Great food, enthralling conversation - films, actors, TV, american serials, up coming films and the state of the nation ! And now to rest, to get that much advised 7 hour sleep before starting at 6 for the gym and then KBC.

Its back to the basic format from tomorrow, the celebrity and festive format over and done with. Simultaneously of course shall begin the shoot for ‘Power’. I feel hesitant to write about it at the moment, for Raj Kumar Santoshi sadly lost his Mother a few days back and it would be very brave on his part to get back to the studios so soon.

The festive spirit in the country still continues, Barack Obama and all ! The lights still glimmer their presence in every home, ours as well and it still looks as beautiful. The fire crackers still continue and many conflagrations of the rule to keep the sound down, are being blatantly disobeyed.

The national and international TV has been obsessed with the visit of POTUS and wherever you remote to, you hear of nothing else but his comments, speeches and his most security tightened visit to the city of Mumbai. Debates follow as must they should and every action, act and syllable uttered, analysed to death, as must it should. After all he is the most powerful man on the planet and when he moves or speaks, concepts and situations change.

Anticipation of work begins to build in after a short gap. The butterflies and the nerves act up and the mind begins to gear up to perform to optimum. Such is our life and I believe the life of all others too. There are times when you feel the need to allow inconsistency to set in, but that is not an option at all. Work it shall be. Man was told that on day one after the apple incident - you shall earn your survival through hard labor and the woman shall bear child in pain ! Dare we mortals, common and general, ever challenge that ?!!

Nothing in this world is achieved without pain and hard work and sweat and blood and tears. The sooner we reconcile to this fact the better. The sooner we start to act on it even better !

To bed then to rest, to contemplate how the morning shall be tackled, or the rest of the day ..
