There is a certain liberty and joy in watching ‘people’ on a sunny Saturday afternoon out on the streets with family and friends, laughing smiling and engaged. England does not get many opportunities such as this and it feels as though the entire city is out in the parks, the streets, the restaurants, happy and content with what life has to offer. Watching their spirits uplifts ours. There is a certain lightness in all we do. The step is energetic, the stride decided and strong and with purpose. There is a keen desire to puff up the chest with clean air, to exercise the lungs, to squint the eyes from the brightness of the sun or cover them with shades. Why is it that shades immediately transform you into a celebrity ? You begin to feel as though you are being followed by a whole army of the paparazzi. Important, stylish and worth a second look !

Today is the death anniversary of Mr Yash Johar, Producer and founder of Dharma productions, father of Karan Johar and one of the finest ‘gentlemen’ in the Film Industry. The first film that he produced under his banner, or the film that he launched his banner with was ‘Dostana’ with Zeenat Aman, Shatrughan Sinha and yours truly, directed by Raj Khosla. His next with me was ‘Agnipath’. A dear friend of the family and the most dependable human ever. No matter what the need he was always there, voluntarily without any obligation. Loved by all and respected for his fair conduct in an industry that often shied away from such attributes.

Yash Johar was just the ideal producer for an artist. His care and concern for them. His efficient and systematic management systems during and after their association with the film on the floors. His personalized attention that he gave to his entire unit, are now legendary. Many of the production systems he introduced in his unit were ahead of time, thoughtful and most professional. A soft spoken, gentle and concerned human, with the most subtle sense of humor, even in the most adverse circumstances.

We remember you fondly Yash ji and send our prayers to you through Hiroo and Karan. Our thoughts shall always be with you !!

Abhishek is back in Mumbai and on to his shooting schedules. I shall be joining him shortly and then be on with my own schedule with the great MohanLal from Kerala and Malayalam Cinema to do a small appearance in the film he makes with Major Ravi.

Life moves on .. tomorrow is another day ..
