Thanks to Obama, it is now a (de)ride from Bangalore to Buffalo
“Bangalore to Buffalo”. This was the remark made by U.S. President Barrack Obama sometime in the past while commenting on outsourcing by US firms in United States. This kicked off a row. We all know that.
Well. Once again Obama has commented on Bangalore in a different context. Our SiliconIndia too carried coverage on “A woman in Bangalore can compete with the world – Obama”.
I was wondering why Obama is so much concerned and worried about Bangalore. I could not make out the reasons behind his concerns.
As a next step, I moved over to Buffalo. We all know Indian buffaloes. I tried to capture the exact meaning in the Microsoft Word under the synonyms.
I was shocked. The equivalent / meaning given therein for Buffalo is confuse, deceive, hoodwink, bewilder, intimidate, threaten and bully.
Bangalore is for clear thought, straightforward, convince, impress, assure, relaxed and friendly approach while Buffalo may stand for the above attributes.
Well. I am not trying to compare Bangalore with Buffalo but Obama made me to look for the comparisons.
It is pure pun for fun. No criticism or offence intended.
